All of my pages are created without the use of any tools other than a simply good text editor.  I edit this locally and FTP the pages to my own site.   Verizon dropped web pages in 2014, I moved to Comcast later and they don't have one either, so I found a site that gave me free webspace of 500M.  Enough to do what little I want and can.

I found CSS code that allowed multiple images as a single background.   So now I have several images overlaying each other to make the overall background.  The remainder of the web page is just simple html code, tables, text, links and such.

The java script that was repeated over and over, was moved into an external file so all the pages are much smaller now, code wise, and easier to edit. It's fun playing with this as a hobby and learning little tricks now and then.

In December 2014 I moved from tabs across the top to buttons down the left, again simplifying the html code.   Then in 2025 back to the tabs on top, fun huh?!

Each page is just two columns, one small one down the left and one huge one on the right for the bulky data.   I can now float the text almost anywhere.   And to complicate it even more, I got a new laptop in 2025 that is a 16" and is 1920x1200 (taller screen than my older 1080 dpi).   So for my personal use, the page is taller with more room in the body of the page.   It's something different for a while, and I'll probably change it again. Who knows?!

The next change I've done it trying speed up the page load.   I found that I could preload images and then when the page painted it was quicker. This was a hint from CoPilot AI. Who'd guess.
